Types of Independent Programs

ASC Affiliated Programs: Semester and Year-Long

Funding: Students are billed by Agnes Scott for tuition, room and board, and receive all institutional, federal, state and outside aid.
Credits:  All courses transfer to Agnes Scott College as Agnes Scott credits.  Choosing an ASC affiliated program means you will study through a program provider and/or host university that has been vetted by ASC.

International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)
Through ISEP, students can pay for Agnes Scott's tuition and fees to study at one of 161 universities across 55 countries.

Irish American Scholars
The Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities sponsors reciprocal exchanges between Agnes Scott and institutions in Northern Ireland. Students can pay for Agnes Scott's tuition, room and board to study at one of five prestigious Northern Ireland universities. Agnes Scott students must be nominated to participate in this long-standing program.

Al Akhawayn University
This Agnes Scott College Exchange partner is a small (about 2,000 students) university located in Ifrane, Morocco. Students can take a variety of classes in English while paying regular ASC tuition, room and board.

Ashesi University
This Agnes Scott College Exchange partner is a small (about 2,000 students) university located in Ghana. Students can take a variety of classes in English while paying regular ASC tuition, room and board.

University of Bristol
This Agnes Scott College Exchange partner is a small (about 2,000 students) university located in England. Students can take a variety of classes in English while paying regular ASC tuition, room and board.

Liverpool Hope University
Liverpool Hope University is a liberal arts institution in Liverpool, England. ASC students can choose from a variety of classes based in the liberal arts and pay regular ASC tuition, room and board.

Note: In the event that a student is unable to find an appropriate program through Agnes Scott's affiliated options, the student should contact an ASC study abroad advisor.
 
Non-Affiliated programs
 
Funding: Eligible students participating in approved Non-Affiliated programs will pay tuition and program fees directly to the program provider or university. ASC charges only a $500 administrative fee. These students may continue their use of any Federal and eligible outside aid during the semester they are abroad, and will continue their use of institutional aid when they return for classes on Agnes Scott campus.
Credits:  All courses transfer to Agnes Scott College as transient credits.

Steps to follow if you choose to study through a non-affiliated program: 
  • Meet with your study abroad adviser to find out if it is an acceptable program
  • Meet with your academic advisor to make sure you have not reached the maximum allowed of transient credits
  • Submit an Intent to Study Abroad in Carta
  • Complete your program application from the program provider
